How to shop
registration
Registration is not required for purchases in our e-shop. After placing your goods in the cart and selecting your delivery and payment options, provide your personal data and billing address in the order form. When processing personal data, we follow the Terms of Personal Data Protection (read in Czech only).
If you decide to register, you will get a complete overview of your purchases and subsequent purchases will be even easier – after logging in you do not have to re-enter your personal data. We send your login details to the email address you provided while registering.
Have you forgotten your password? No problem, in the Login section, click on the Forgotten password option – we generate a new password and send it to the email address you provided while registering. After logging in, you can change your password at any time in your personal settings.

Our goods are catalogued into categories and subcategories – making searching easy. For example, if you are looking for fairy tales, head to the Children's category, or go directly to the Fairy tales, myths and legends subcategory, where you are sure to find what you are looking for.
To search for books from one author or from one edition – in the product detail section, click on the author's name or the edition name to see all the titles we have in stock. You can also browse the index of authors.
selection according to the condition of goods
We often have multiple copies of one title, however, the condition (degree of wear) or appearance may vary. In this instance you can choose a book based on its condition, go to the product detail section under the book title and click on the drop-down box called Condition (the corresponding price and photos display for each variant).
We provide detailed descriptions of specific deficiencies and defects in all books, go to the Condition parameter to discover whether the selected book is missing a cover, has damage to the binding, has a library stamp etc.
Book prices
The prices of books in our e-shop are final and include VAT (for books, since 1. 1. 2024 the zero VAT rate of 0 % applies, for music media, CDs, casette tapes and records, the basic VAT rate of 21 % applies).
Prices are displayed in Euro (EUR), but if you are considering purchasing from Czech Republic, go to the upper-right corner of the website (above the Basket) to display the price in Czech crown (CZK).
information about your order
After sending the order, you receive a confirmation email with an order summary. By logging in, registered customers can monitor the status of their order in their user account. The moment we send the goods to your address, you receive another email confirming the order has been sent. Simultaneously, you should receive an email from the selected shipping company confirming that they have accepted your package for shipment (the email usually includes a link to track the shipment).
If you choose to pay by bank transfer, please wait for an email containing the necessary information for making the payment. We do not send prepayment information until your order is complete and ready to be shipped.
Before picking it up in person at the Poděbrady shop, always wait for confirmation that your order is ready for collection – first we find and prepare the books, then we inform you by email. The order will be kept ready for you in the shop for 7 days. When picking up your order remember to state your order number (if you forget this, the name of the book usually suffices).
If you did not receive a confirmation email about the receipt of the order or you did not receive the ordered goods within ten working days of placing the order, contact us at info@antikvariatpodebrady.cz.
cancel an order
If, after placing the order, you discover that you made a mistake or you already have the book in your library, please contact us as soon as possible at info@antikvariatpodebrady.cz. Please state your order number, we need this number to cancel your unwanted order.
When processing your order, we may discover that the book you selected is in a different condition than originally stated or, in rare cases, we may not be able to find the book in the warehouse at all. If either of these cases occur, we will contact you to agree on the next step (exchange of goods or cancellation of the order).
exchange and return of goods
If you have received goods that show other signs of damage than those listed for the ordered goods (these may be missing or torn pages, abrasions on the LP, etc.), please contact us as soon as possible at info@antikvariatpodebrady.cz. We handle all complaints individually. If possible, we will replace the damaged copy with another, or return the money to your account.
